so i am completely amped for this semester. i have been filled with overwhelming joy. i love talking to people, and people getting to see a completely different intake on the things we say/ or even think. yesterday was one of those days. it was really sweet going home and hanging out with my mom the other day and even sweeter when yesterday she furthered on our conversation about Churches. i've been trying for so long to spark some interest in both parents about church and what i'm doing at the church and all that jazz, but they have never asked or been interested, until now. my mom has asked several questions about my new church and i feel that this is an opportunity to reach out to her and to not be afraid to simply come with me to church! also, my younger sister applied to a private christian high school and i think from both her, myself, and the examples of my older sister robin and her husband that we can make that connection with my parents to seek after the Lord. both my parents are christian, but think that as a christian the only thing you do is go to church, esp on christmas and easter, aka, chreasters. my prayer in this: pray that they continue to ask questions and explore the same faith their daughters have a passion and calling for, and of course to simply fall in LOVE with Jesus.
after talking to some friends i have prayed about this and somewhat chatted with my mom about this but that i am planning to go on a missions trip. God has been placing a certain place on my heart and mind constantly, and as we all know these things cannot simply be ignored. financially i am not stable to go, but i know that if God is calling you to a place, he will make ANYTHING possible. i'm unsure still of when i will leave, but most likely in the summer, right after summer school study aboard in Florence, Italy. i plan not to graduate this upcoming spring, but to stay one more year in order to finish my business minor. 2011 watch out! prayer for this: for God to reveal where, and to let everything simply fall into place.
also another fabulous thing that happened yesterday.... besides finally eating sushi which completed my life..... was having a heart to heart with my dear friend: Sarah. i don't like to use the word best friend, b/c i have a group of people i consider great friends, but seriously, this girl is ... there is no words to describe how amazing she is. i feel so safe near her and through living together and finally living together in the house we still share an extremely tight bond with one another. its at these moments that i wish that the relationship we have could be reflected in other neglected relationships with other people, .. but lets just say that not only will she be in my wedding, but def my maid of honor, and if anything were to happen to me/my future husband she would be their God mother. this girl is seriously someone to get to know. prayer for her: she was approached by another sister saying that she will lead a devotional this semester, so pray for her to think about what God wants her to devo about.
again this morning.... denny's run and that fabulous waitress Noosh. even thou she wasn't our waitress, simply hearing her voice brings such a joy to my heart. not because of her accent, but because of the love she pours out. the way she makes you feel that you are loved and cared. how she speaks to you. we are her # 1 fans! i mean 2 denny's runs at 2 am twice this week?! + sarah was going to die if she didn't get that nasty burrito burger wrap thing. she claims it is life changing amazing, but ewk. not a favorite in my book. i think i would like to go to hash house a go go, or broken yoke or that chicken pot pie place near school, but i refuse to go alone, i need a group of peeps.
something rad: i am simply amped for this semester. to be challenged, to grow in areas of life that i have shyed away from. to not be afraid of God's future for my life, to pour out his unfailing love unto others. to remind others that He has never left us. to build girls up in their walks with him. to understand that i may not know all the stories of the Bible, but that when the question is asked that God will bestow in me a desire to seek out the truths. to know and take comfort in the fact that this year a lot of girls will be graduating and leaving the sorority, but that i will continue to remain active and with the possibility of being on exec next semester. i am excited for setting up weekly meetings with girls again and to understand their hearts, and build them stronger and deeper the love that flows abundantly for Christ. I am excited to be in God's word daily and have his truths fill me with wisdom and knowledge and use these things to glorify his kingdom. i am excited to spread his love in non christian places, such as work, or old friendships from high school, showing kindness and love in all that i do. this semester possibly leading another small group... much thought/prayer has gone into this,... but i think it will be about desires/contentment. being excited to lead and being excited to watch girls relationships grow stronger in this. creating an art club, using the love of art to express the fruits of the spirit and use our talents for his kingdom. also to be truly excited for the AP God has placed for me this semester. there are times where i feel that i could have been her big, but then remind myself that there is a greater purpose as her AP to serve her and be raw in our relationship. it is definitely divine, and this summer i have been praying about AP's and met with our devotional chair who places AP's together, and without a doubt i knew for a fact that before this girl and i met up to chat, that i would be this other girls AP. i am really excited to see what God has in store for us and excited because she has revealed to me once before that she trusts me completely which indeed is rare with this girl to be trusting. I see so much potential in her and her desire to be closer to God and seek relationships of connecting with other girls in the sorority. my prayer in is: that you pray for a calming peace for this girl, and that she will not be afraid to come to me and tell me what is going on in life and God and that i likewise can be uplifting and encouraging and simply pour God's love into this girls life this semester!
So, Simply, I AM EXCITED!
let peace be with you.... as U2 sings indeed " it's a beautiful day " the sun is out, use this time to reflect and be real.
