Pure Passion

What is Pure Passion?

I got this rad book called, "Dating with Pure Passion," and after reading the first chapter i have learned so much about not only myself but God. I feel compelled as your sister in Christ to share this in all it's entirety with you.

in the first chapter of the book it describes love in the form of chocolate. we crave it and it gives us a 'high' feeling and fulfills an empty void we have of acceptance in us. However, that form of love/chocolate only gives us this feeling for a short time as it wears off. Rob Eagar says this:

"unfortunately, eating chocolate on an empty stomach illustrates how a lot of singles build dating relationships. They approach one another with hungry hearts, hoping that the other person will feed them. without love, people become desperate for something to fill the void indside their hearts." he goes on to discuss more about this and its effects on us, then releases that human love is performance based, where we don't want to be accepting of disappointments, or mistakes the other makes in the relationship...however, GOD is constant and forgives us unconditionally and loves unconditionally and accepts us unconditionally.

>>Then what is Pure Passion?:

Eagar discusses that saying, "i love you" doesn't mean the same as it once did and doesn't give assurance that that person loves you for all entirety. in John 3:16 portrays that God loved us so much that he chose to die for us. this leaves no doubt that He is deeply in love with you!

in pure passion there are 3 essential elements that i would like to share:

1. Christ initiates love

>in Hebrews 12:2 He died on the cross because God wanted a relationship w/ us. look at 1 John 4:19 and ephesians 1:7.

> Christ's initiative is an important aspect of pure passion because it signifies that he takes the lead to love us.

2. The joy of specific love

> Hebrews 12:2 "joy received from you"> he was so passionate about a relationship with us that He considered his sacrifice worth the pain. Luke 12:6-7

>so pure passion not only involves the initiation of Christ's love but also incorporates the truth that you are a unique individual who brings Him joy.

3. Sacrifical love:

>Hebrews 12:2 >"endured the cross"> Romans 5:7-8

>"loving a person who treats you with kindness and respect is easy. But pure passion involves the sacrifice to love someone even when he or she makes mistakes or acts selfishly.

Things comprended and putting forth:

> Christ wants to satisfy my heart.

>He already offered all the love my heart needs.

and most important:

Ephesians 5:2

"Christ wants to ignite within you the passionate desire to share His sacrifical love with a special person."

meaning: "to Jesus, dating is not about finding someone to fill your hungry heart. Rather, He intends for His love to fill you and be espressed to someone else!"
