Psalms...

i've been reading Psalms.... specifically Psalms 119. here is some scripture flowing through my mind:

" My comfort in my suffering is this: your promise preserves my life." --- 50

" may those who fear you rejoice when they see me, for i have put my hope in your word." --- 74

"You are my refuge and my shield; i have put my hope in your word." ---114

" turn to me and have mercy on me, as you always do to those who love your name." ---132

& ... "For I have not forgotten your commands..." ---176

here is something to chew on, i wrote last semester, but sometimes we need a reminder that He is always present and close in our lives...

A Poem for Him

your Beauty and love wraps me up

you carry my burdens and pain

you overflow the brim of my cup.

 you take me and love me for all that i am.

I desire what you desire for my heart.

I desire you,

you have blessed me with the love for art,

to you i am true.

You complete me in every way.

You push me and challenge me

on earth will i stay, til one day,

i will reside eternally in heaven

This flame you have ignited within me

burns brightly for your glory

everything i do you see

and more than ever adds joy to our story

you gave me strength

you gave me courage

you gave me hope

you gave me love

You have shown what pure joy means

you have blessed me with your love

you have mended all of my loose seams

you have shown me to be like that of a dove

Lord, forever i will be grateful

you will not be forgotten

your words will flow through me to the broken

and your warmth and love will save the lost and the forgotten.

As i lay down everything at your feet reassure me and calm my heart

i will wait here in our place to meet

i will be waiting so that we may start.

i seek your glorious ways

i listen to the humming around me

i am romanced by you always

i close me eyes and you make me see.

i cry and call out your name,

you listen and speak

nothing else matters not even fame

for with you i am strong, but without you i am weak

i stand here willing and able

teach me your words

 for in you i have become stable

as i walk forwards.

yes it is true. 

you have chosen me

the message sent is now due

and within me i hold the key

although i am afraid,

i step out into the light

these loose strands now become a braid 

and they will forever remain tight.

lord in you alone

i live by faith

in me you have sewn

a heart so perfect in every way.

this hearts beats only for you

surely you must know.

i cry out loud and accept your truth

and through it all i glow.

i know this is only the beginning to our story

as you bless me with your fruit.

Lord, i give you all the glory!

as you speak i am mute.

The sunrise brings me tears, 

you shine out warmth and love

i sit here open with both ears

my silent heart senses your guidance above

i am awaken by your grace

no longer holding onto anxiety and fear

lord i can see your face

i call on you and you are near.

no words can describe 

how truly beautiful you are

 seeing the sun and your glory is

reminding me that you are not far.

lord how awesome is this?

i praise you

i see you and know that what we have exists

for everything you say is coming true.

lord take these burdens and thoughts holding me down

free my mind

for with you in my life i have found, 

that i love to rhyme.

you have shown me a joy so great.

let me serve you

i trust you completely in my fate.

 for you are always true.

i wish that others could see

this warmth and love you stretch out

 you are so good to me

so let me tell them what you're all about.

you have captured my heart.

and it is always yours to keep

let me do my part

so that this abundance of love may be seeped.

you say that what is seen is temporary

and what is unseen is eternal

i have the faith

to be firm and withstand all

 so let me speak for you, 

so let this love and joy last

so let my words be true.

and let the past remain the past.

so lord hold me close

so that i can hear you speak

your comfort and love is what i desire most

i want you to use me to reach out to the weak.

and to tell them how great you are.

and to tell them they are forgiven

and to tell them they are loved.

and to tell them they can be saved and go to heaven.

my heart yearns for you

come to this place

i come to seek out your truth 

For the reality is that you are greater than all of this..

lord i praise you 

i praise your name

i praise your truth,

i praise your never changing ways.
